We on Humma will arrange our first hobby horse camp together with Alisa Aarniomäki and Folkhälsan Norrvalla in Vörå, Finland 15-17 Oktober 2021. The camp starts on friday afternoon and ends on sunday afternoon. During the camp you will have the opportunity to practice dressage riding, jumping, forest riding and get to know other hobby horse enthusiasts. It is possible to borrow a HUMMA hobby horse during the camp if needed.
Finland's and the world's foremost hobby horse dressage rider Alisa Aarniomäki will act as trainer and coach. Alisa has been riding hobby horses for over ten years and has extraordinary elegance and harmony in her movements. She is also a great instructor and will instruct each rider personally and based on their own level with the goal of promoting the interaction between rider and horse. When competing in dressage, the goal is that the rider is relaxed and appears effort-free while the horse willingly performs the requested movement, it seems as if they are dancing together. The overall riding skills will be improved by the dressage training.
In addition to dressage riding, we will also practice jumping obstacles with a hobby horse. To become a good obstacle jumper, you need lots of practice. The obstacles these youngsters can do range from 50 cm to 120 cm so it is really challenging. It is important to practice getting the steps between the obstacles right and learn good jumping technique.
On the hobby horse camp there will of course be plenty of time for free riding, chilling, talking and laughing. On Saturday night we go to the swimming pool to have fun. On Sunday afternoon a competition will be arranged where each rider can choose to show their progress in either hobby horse dressage or hobby horse jumping. It is good to remember that the main competition is against yourself.
We can promise you that we will have a lot of fun and hopefully we will see you there. You can sign up at the link below. Unfortunately it is only available in Swedish and Finnish, but if we have foreign friends who want to participate (despite Covid-19), please contact per e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
